A redesign of the original PowerBase, designed with the younger gamer in mind due to the Megadrive being released. In recent years, the same idea has been applied to the Megadrive 2.
The Master System 2 is inferior to the original, Sega omitted the card port, reset button and high quality AV output in order for the machine to be sold at a cheaper price. This means that card games and games requiring the 3D glasses cannot be played. It is however fully compatable with all cartridge games. Given the choice, I would go for the original system everytime.
